Research Objectives To determine the productivity of rice in meeting the food needs of the population of East Tombatu sub-district. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The source of the data in this study was secondary data obtained from the central statistical agency and related agencies. The results showed that the rice production produced tended to fluctuate actively so that it affected rice productivity. In terms of the supply of rice in 2018–2022, the results obtained in each year were 9030.4 tons, 10,673 tons, 7,329.40 tons, 11 349.10 tons, and 9 928.58 tons. while in terms of demand for rice, the results are obtained in each year of 2.57 tons per capita, 2.91 tons per capita, 2.85 tons per capita, 2.86 tons per capita, and 2.89 tons per capita. As for the results of the analysis of the level of rice productivity in meeting the food needs of the East Tombatu sub-district population by comparing demand and supply, it shows that the East Tombatu sub-district in 2018–2022 is still in surplus in meeting the food needs of its population
