Publication Ethics

That is the statement of the Sariputra E-Journal published by the Community Service Research Institute (LPPM) of Sariputra University, Indonesia, Tomohon. This statement is adapted from The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and LIPI Head Regulation Number 5 of 2014 concerning the principles of the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications and includes the code of ethics for editors in chief, members of the editorial board, reviewers and authors. This statement is based on:
 
Articles published in the Sariputra E-Jurnal are an important foundation in the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network in the field of education and are a direct reflection of the quality of the authors and the institution. Therefore, it is important to agree on standards of ethical behavior that are expected for all parties involved in the act of publishing: authors, journal editors, peer reviewers, publishers, and the public. The Sariputra E-Jurnal Editor is committed to ensuring that all procedures are directed only to facilitate objective and intellectual treatment. Furthermore, editors and reviewers evaluate manuscripts without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political or group interests.
 
Writer's Duties
 
Has the responsibility to ensure only new and original work is submitted.
May not reproduce work that has been previously published in other journals.
May not submit any article that is under review or consideration by a journal to another journal simultaneously.
It is only permissible to publish his work elsewhere after receiving an official rejection from the journal or if the request for withdrawal of his work is officially accepted by the journal.
Must notify the Editor-in-Chief or publisher if there are data inaccuracies in the published work so that corrections or retraction of the article can be made.
Must make significant contributions and be responsible for any deficiencies in his work.
Reviewer Duties
 
Must disclose competing interests before agreeing to review a submission.
May refuse to review any submission due to conflict of interest or insufficient knowledge.
Review all submissions objectively, fairly and professionally.
Disclose any ethical violations encountered during the review to the Editor-in-Chief for follow-up.
Must ensure the authenticity of submissions and guard against plagiarism and excessive publication.
Do not discuss the contents of posts without permission.
Adhere to the time allocated for the review process. Requests for an extension of time to review a manuscript are at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief.
Duties of Editorial Board Members
 
Actively contribute to the development and benefit of the journal.
Act as an ambassador for the journal.
Continue to support and promote this journal.
Review each job assigned to them.
Duties of the Editor-in-Chief
 
Evaluate manuscripts fairly and solely based on their intellectual value.
Guarantee the confidentiality of the manuscript and do not disclose any information regarding the manuscript to anyone other than people involved in the publishing process.
Has responsibility for deciding when and which articles to publish.
Actively seek the views of board members, reviewers and authors on how to enhance/enhance the image and visibility of the journal.
Provide clear instructions to potential contributors regarding the submission process and what is expected of authors.
Ensure appropriate reviewers are selected/identified for the review process
