Abstract

Inaccuracy in insulin administration will result in uncontrolled blood glucose levels, which will increase the risk of increased blood glucose. The purpose of implementing this community service activity is to improve the knowledge and practice of DM patients in injecting insulin, how to use insulin, its syringes, storage and proper waste disposal independently. The implementation methods used in this community service activity include video lectures, demonstration methods and question and answer sessions as well as evaluating the level of respondent knowledge. The results of the activity showed an increase in respondent knowledge regarding how to use insulin, its syringes, storage and waste disposal. The conclusion of this activity is that health education is effective in increasing respondent knowledge regarding how to use insulin, its syringes, storage and waste disposal correctly so that they can practice and become habits in everyday life.
