Introduction Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is a problem of death in children in developing countries. One of the risk factors for ARI in todleading causes smoking behavior. The research method used is a quantitative method with a cross sectional approach. The population of mothers who bring children aged 0-5 years su-fering from ISPA to the Kakaskasen Health Center, with a sample of 54 respondents. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test. The data0–5ults showed that the frequency distribution of respondents suffering from mild ARI was 3 re ondents (5.6%), moderate ARI was 28 respondents (51.9%) and severe ARI was 23 respondents (42.6%) and respondents whose members had light smoking were 4 respondents (7.4%), moderate smoking were 20 respondents (37.0%) and heavy smoking were 30 respondents (55.6%). The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between smoking habits at home and the incidence of ARI in children under five years of age a(51.9%),akaskasen Public Health Center in 2(42.6%),e statistical test results found that there was a significant relationship between smoking hawas and the inciden(37.0%),RI in children 0-5 wass with p value = 0.039 < α (0.05). Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that there was a significant relationship between heavy smoking and the incidence of ARI, which has moderate severity. Although the severity level is classified as moderate, the results of the study still show a significant relationship between smoking habits in the home and the incidence of ARI in children 0–5 years of age.
