Gastritis is an inflammation of the gastric mucosa that is acute, chronic, diffuse, or local. Characteristics of this inflammation are anorexia, a feeling of fullness or discomfort in the epigastrium, nausea, and vomiting. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between dietary habit seen from the regularity of eating frequency, meal portions, and types of food. The research method used in this research was an analytic survey with a cross sectional approach with a total sampling of 124 respondents from 2nd and 4th semester students at Sariputra Indonesia University, Tomohon. The instrument used was questionnaires. The independent variable is dietary habit and the dependent variable is the risk of gastritis. The results showed that there was a correlation between dietary habits and the risk of gastritis using the chi square test with a significant level of a = 0.05, p value = 0.002, which means this value is smaller than 0.05. These results indicate that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. The conclusion in this study is that there is a correlation between dietary habits and the risk of gastritis in nursing students at Sariputra Indonesia University, Tomohon, which is in the fair category
