THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN KNOWLEDGE LEVEL AND ATTITUDE CLASS XI STUDENTS IN HANDLING DYSMENORRHEA AT SMK NEGERI 1 TONDANO

Dysmenorrhea is menstrual pain that is often experienced by women, especially during adolescence. Appropriate knowledge and attitudes regarding the management of Dysmenorrhea are very important to reduce its impact on daily life. However, many teenage girls still have limited knowledge and inappropriate attitudes in dealing with this condition. Objective: This research was conducted to analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes of class XI female students towards the management of Dysmenorrhea at SMK Negeri 1 Tondano. Method: This research is quantitative research, using a correlational descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. The research was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Tondano in February-March 2024. The research instrument used a questionnaire sheet. The population in this study was 102 female students with the sample used in this study totaling 81 respondents selected through purposive sampling techniques. The independent variable is the level of knowledge and the dependent variable is the attitude of young female students. Results: there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and attitude of female students with a significance value of 0.011 < 0.05, which means there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and attitude of class IX female students at SMK Negeri 1 Tondano in handling dysmenorrhea with the Spearman rho correlation coefficient of 0.281. Conclusion: Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes of female students towards the management of Dysmenorrhea.
